Priceless Smiles

When I was on a photo hunting @ China Town area - Singapore, luckily I saw this uncle lay down there, soon I grab my gear and get this shot
Another miniature effect collections of mine. It's the roof-top pool which was also taken from Orchard Central - Singapore
This was taken during the sunrise time @ Merlion Place. I always love this picture as it really shows the beauty of Singapore

A wedding celebration should be magical. Imagine combining it with the unforgettable experience on the sea. There is probably nothing more romantic than a couple starting their lives together with a Yacht Wedding, as what we experienced during Roy and San nuptial. What a unique and unforgettable experience for everyone on board. Even though the summer rain showers hovered above, the ceremony was made perfect with bunch of smiles from the couples, families and guests.

Preparation was done at ONE°15 Marina Club, the exclusive Sentosa Cove enclave (Singapore), which now is positioned to become one of the world’s most well-integrated waterfront lifestyle communities. As the preparations done, the rain was still showering, that made the couples worry they couldn't set sail and do their solemnization on Yacht. Although there was a delay, everybody finally could board on a beautiful JYohana Yacht, and the party started. The ROM ceremony was smooth, food was fantastic, the smell of sea breeze was refreshing and the sunset over the drizzling rain really made the day.

The celebrations of Chinese New Year (CNY) stretch over 15 days and begin with preparations of up to 1 month prior to the start of the celebration. One common thing that each Chinese people will do is spring-cleaning. The home is swept clean prior to the New Year celebration and traditionally bamboo leaves are used in the belief that this would drive out evil spirits. It is the custom not to sweep on Lunar New Year's Day itself - lest good luck be swept away. Some even hide their brooms and sharp utensils like knives. Festive decorations and symbols (pots of kumquat or flowers) are put up to brighten up the home. Red scrolls and posters with 'good-wish-verse' are placed at the doorway. The most prominent and mandatory during this period is new clothes and an accompanying hairdo.

Talking about clothes during this festive period, one thing that more and more family practice is the match-y family fashion. It's become more trendy nowadays. More parents are going to shop for the children according to their own tastes. This isn't necessarily because they want their children to mirror their own beautiful selves, but more often, I think, because they are delighted by the smallness of children, which is somehow enhanced when they dress the children similarly to themselves. Also, an obvious point but, children are too young to choose their own clothes. Sometimes, even if it's completely unintentional, plenty of families naturally end up dressing similarly, often for practical reason. I know one mother who says she dresses her two girls the same, so she can easily keep track of them in the park, only having to look out for one color or pattern.

So, parents, start shopping now. Chinese New Year is about to come. Check out www.midouceur.com, if you plan to dress-up your entire family with a match-y fashion this festive season. They have plenty of gorgeous collections to choose for. Enjoy shopping and wish you all a Happy and Prosperous Chinese New Year ahead!

As we all know, photographing children is not an easy task and is always challenging. But once we managed to capture their expressions, it's worth the tremendous efforts we've put in.The smiles, gestures and their laughs framed in every single photo, relieves our fatigue, indeed. That was what we experienced during the last session with Kelvin and family.

Parents, for sure they will always remember those precious moments spent with their loving ones. While for us, it's our big pleasure to be able to actualize a great family reunion into something that won't be easily forgotten and lasts long, a photograph. It also bring us a unique satisfaction to be able to capture those priceless memories, loving stories and an outstanding emotions of the family. "Though it was tiring, but it was really worth it", Kelvin said on one of our conversations. And we are really grateful for they are really enjoying this.

Someone said a good portrait is 99% expression, and I 100% agree with it. As what I experienced when documented Simon and Jasmine ROM. Beside the extraordinary venue, breathtaking view, and cloudy wonderful weather, the expressions of the peoples on board were really gorgeous. For me and maybe for some, it could be our very first experience cruised on yacht and celebrated a special moment on the sea, and I believe we were all having so much fun that day.

But what made that day so important was it marked the day when both were commit each other to bring their relationship into a new life, a marriage life. The life when it's not solely about survival, it's about living our daily life to its fullest. One life ends, another begin. Frustration and disappointment could surface, but conflict is an optional. When one person is not enough, always remember the power of "we". Sacrifice oneself not for the spouse, but for the sake of the unity of our relationship. Those are some essences of marriage that we should have always learned.

Nevertheless, the couple's never-ending smiles gave more color to the day and somehow it took me a seamless effort to capture them on the frame, as their expressions were always natural. It's always my personal enjoyment watching people in love and see how they interact with each other, how sweet and playful they are. Without further a do, here, I proudly present the story of our next love birds, Simon and Jasmine.

To fall in love with someone is sometimes effortless, yet to create a true love and build a strong relationship is another story that one could possibly give up easily. I guess, this couple have shown us the second is totally a gone case, never even written on their love journey, even though distance separates them apart.

Since the day they've known each other through a social media and became an icon, time has always been their most valuable treasure. Times when they were together was never been wasted on something trivial, as they were separated hundreds miles away from each other, and only on a special occasion or during holidays, Hendra will pay a visit to Nelly's hometown. That was the days when they poured their love with fresh condiments. Days to smile...Days to laugh...Days to hug and kisses.

Thanks to their great commitment and strong soul, they have declared to move their relationship to the next level. They have drawn a line and ready to take their FIRST STEPS to their dreams that lie beyond. Wish you both a wonderful and everlasting love journey...

It's not only the lavish wedding celebration itself does matter to every bride and groom, it is also the memory they experienced. We believe every couples will hope that all the time, energy and small little details they had put into their wedding plan, will result in a very unique and memorable moments that shared with family and friends. Some will say "my best memory was when I made a grand entrance". Some say "the most memorable moment of my wedding was being able to catch up on weeks of lost sleep after it was over".

We believe the most memorable one is when the wedding is over and everything turned out to be great. All the beautiful, awful, yet terrible moments happened become real memories. Relief, satisfy, proud, and excitement blend together closing the big day. That's what we see on Jason and Jasmine. During preparation days, and in the morning of their big day itself, they looked nervous and anxious. Luckily, as the time passed by, their burden diminished and their smiles started to burst-out, and it really made the day. Hence, during the evening banquet, they were full of emotions and love, they looked really gorgeous, happy, and everything was heartfelt.

Thank you guys for letting us be a part of your day. Congratulations for both of you and may your journey together be everlasting.

Here is the sneak peak of their wedding day...
